Palm Sunday! A nice picture of Danila Vassilieff written in 1947 in Australia. The author obviously is Russian (I hope to have this painter as a compatriot; certainly he could be Bolgarian or Ukrainian.) I think what is special in this picture is the point if view. Christ is seen through the eyes of a person standing on the way. Jesus comes directly o me. I am in danger! This is not usual "objective" position somewhere aside. And I think that kife in general is such meeting with Christ on one's own way - Christ coming always in the most unexpected way, when we see mostly a donkey, or pupils, and don't understand that this very man threatening to destroy our calmness is our Savior from egotism and banality.
